Do-Si-Jo's Corn Maze/Hendrix Farm

3086 Beaver Dam Creek Road

Newberry, SC 29108

Do-Si-Jo's Corn Maze is an agritourism destination located just minutes from Downtown Newberry in the heart of some of the county's most scenic agricultural areas. It is an extension of our family farm- Hendrix Farm (owned and operated by Blake & Joleen Hendrix). We raise grass-fed beef cattle & goats, however, the farming at this location is primarily raising hay for our livestock. We utilize this farm location for events, including a large corn maze, pumpkin patch, and many other activities for the public during the fall season. For the Ag&Art Tour, we will have some of our goats for viewing and possibly a few cows/calves as well.

Thomas Art Studios (Saturday only)

"I feel that an artist connects with a spiritual realm when he/she creates. I choose the one of good. I hope to reveal the beauty I see in each of us and around us. It is important to complete the circle. That is, an artist creates and when someone else becomes involved and receives fulfillment from that creation, the circle is complete. My paintings begin with a detailed pencil drawing on the canvas. The process of applying at least twenty layers of paint begins. Only brushes are used. I use the white of the canvas, rarely white paint. Mediums are never used."

I will not be demonstrating, but will be on hand to discuss art!

Cacalano Studios (Saturday only)

"I use charcoal to make the drawing on canvas. I next use fixative on the drawing. I use acrylic paint next. The final touches are black outlines to major shapes. Modeling, shading, and glazes are also final touches. The message is to make a pleasing progression, calculations, additions, and subtractions to coloring. The most important technique to receiving answers from the muses is stepping back for the correct push and pull for success. The first colors added are the foundation to the study of changes that all art and life offer at the ready to making a good first impression"

I will be demonstrating at my booth.
