Spring is in the air, and we are happy to welcome it! With the warmer weather, we look forward to increased activities around the community, both of the professional and the community kind.

The monthly Chamber Business After Hours will be held on March 21 from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. at Pieces of Time East, located at 1211 Main Street in downtown Newberry. Join us at this one-stop shop for premium chalk-like paint and finishes, fine art and craft products, hand-painted vintage furniture, home decor, workshops & more. If you’ve not visited owner Kristi yet, you do not want to miss this opportunity!

Join us on March 24 at 6:00 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church in downtown Newberry for “A Night of Music.” This concert will feature organist Huger Caughman, pianist Christopher Dukes, and violinist Peter Moore. This is a first come, first seated event. This event is coordinated by the Chamber, and there will be no ticket sales; however, donations will be accepted, with all proceeds benefitting the Free Medical Clinic of Newberry County.

Newberry County Young Professionals will host a LinkedIn and Professional Head Shop Workshop on March 26 at 6:00 p.m. at Piedmont Technical College, Newberry campus. This event is open to the public and to all ages. You will learn how to set up, or refine, your online resume and have a professional head shot made.

The April Business After Hours will be held on April 2 from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. at Newberry College’s Smith Road Complex located at 1900 Smith Road in Newberry. This event is sponsored by Whitaker Floor Coverings, Inc. and will include grilled goods, cold beverages, and a baseball game at 6:00 p.m. Come see who gets to throw out the first pitch!

The next Chamber Breakfast will be held on April 9 from 7:30 until 9:00 a.m. in Community Hall, 1209 Caldwell Street in downtown Newberry. We will hear from representative of the Newberry Museum regarding the progress and plans for this historic structure. Pope, Parker, and Jenkins will sponsor this event. There will be a $12 charge for this event, and reservations can be made by contacting the Chamber.

Ag+Art Tour of Newberry County has been set for June 1 and 2. Currently, there are sign-up forms for farms available. The Chamber looks forward to bringing this event to the area again so that we can celebrate our agricultural heritage and promote local artists.

Also starting on June 1 is the summer Grow Newberry Farmers Market. This program will be held in Memorial Park in downtown Newberry, and spaces will be available for gardeners of produce and plants, bakers, select craftsman, and a few non-profits. Contact us if you are interested in being a vendor or a sponsor of this popular event.
